HM-Whala! Hotels joins the Fundació Deixalles’ FEM QUE CIRCULI! initiative
The Deixalles Foundation is launching the initiative: FEM QUE CIRCULI! It has been set up in response to the need to promote the circular economy in the hospitality and property sectors and to support the social and labour market integration of vulnerable groups through the reuse of objects and waste. It is being rolled out on the islands of Mallorca and Ibiza, Spain, and is funded by the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda.

From At HM-Whala! Hotels, we wanted to take part in the initiative with two pillars that we consider fundamental and which align with some of the objectives of our project “The PLANet by HM Hotels & Resorts”:
On the one hand, through the circular economy approach to textiles, IT equipment, toys and furniture donated by our hotels for subsequent reuse by third parties or for sale in the Foundation’s own shops. Furthermore, we will pool resources to give a new lease of life to many of the items which, in their current state, are unusable. The Fundació Deixalles will work on reusing these items in its various workshops across the island, and they may subsequently be purchased by us once again.
The other key pillar is to encourage greater integration into the labour market for people at risk of social exclusion, as well as to promote corporate social responsibility through the provision of work placements within the company. By signing this agreement, we also commit to fulfilling this objective.
