17 years of collaboration with the Balearic Islands School of Hospitality

Since 2005, we have been working with EHIB to offer work placements to its students in various specialisms. To date, nearly 50 students have completed work placements at our establishments in both the Caribbean and Mallorca.

More than 50 per cent of students who have undertaken work placements at our establishments go on to join us. Furthermore, we not only offer them a place to launch their professional careers, but we also continue to train them to give them the opportunity to progress along a career path within the company. In fact, around 30 per cent of the HM Hotels & Resorts team eventually go on to take up middle management and senior management roles.

Among the objectives of our “The PLANet by HM Hotels & Resorts” project are the creation of jobs in the regions where we operate and the promotion of our employees’ personal and professional development. In this way, inclusive and sustained economic growth can drive progress, create decent work for all, improve living standards and, ultimately, fulfil Goal 8 of the 17 SDGs.

Furthermore, as a general rule, students are young people trying to make the transition into working life. Significantly reducing the proportion of young people who are not in employment is part of another of our initiatives.
